President's Message

A Fond Farewell

Where has the time gone? I can’t believe that this is my final message as NAWBO Ventura County President! I hope it has been a productive and positive year for you. I have certainly Karen Smith, President Nawbo, VCenjoyed being your President and look forward to continuing our “move forward” with Robin Martino at the helm as our new President. Robin and her board take over July 1, 2013.

In addition to thanking Robin, our current President-Elect, for her partnership and numerous contributions to the chapter this year, I wish to thank the rest of my 2012-2013 board for their time and commitment to our chapter:Debbi Reed, Immediate Past President; Sheryl Tuchman, Treasurer; Heather Dawe, Secretary; Joanne Crowley, Programs Director; Diane de Mailly, Corporate Partner Director; and Neil Palache, Public Policy Director.

I would also like to thank all of the NAWBO VC members who helped us with so many of our chapter events and the business of running a chapter. You know who you are and I truly believe our chapter would not be where it is today without your contributions during this term!

I hope you will join me at our July 25 Installation Mixer where I will officially thank the outgoing board, review our achievements, and support Robin Martino and her new board as they are installed.

We have several events scheduled for June. I hope you can join us on June 8 at Sheryl Tuchman’s home for our fundraiser. See details and how to register on this website.  We will be hosting a New Member Wine Tasting on June 12. If you are a new member this term, watch for your invitation to arrive soon.

Our June 27 dinner meeting promises to be another great one with our speaker Kim Marie Branch-Pettid, who will give us numerous networking tips. Read more about presentation here.

I look forward to seeing you at our June events!
