Sonia Cohen is the founder of Cohen Marketing International.  She emigrated from South Africa in 1986 with her husband and four children.  They started a retail trophy and award store on the Westside which was the spring board for getting into Promotional Products Advertising.  This presented an exciting a creative challenge, offering a very wide range of promotional products, wearables and awards to a very diverse customer base.

During the 90’s, Sonia joined a large national promotional products company.  Sales executives had to meet targets and high performance levels in order to be rewarded to attend national sales meetings in Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia and San Diego. These meetings were filled with amazing speakers and incredible information that furthered Sonia’s education in product knowledge and creative marketing.

In 2001, seeing the changes in the industry and always having an entrepreneurial spirit, Sonia established Cohen Marketing International.  She has been fortunate to have the loyalty of many clients with whom she has worked for 20 years.  She has provided products for the Nintendo games, assisting the GH team with ensuring that the products supplied met the high standard required by Nintendo.  She has  become the “go-to” person amongst many Advertising and PR companies who require give-aways to enhance new product advertising campaigns.

After completing an intensive 12 week course, to become one of the few approved as a crisis counselor, Sonia volunteered her time in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles.  She utilizes these skills to listen to her clients needs and always provides sound advice, and stellar service.

Sonia feels blessed to be an American and have the ability to achieve anything she desires.  Her greatest joy is sharing her life with husband Brian to whom she has been married to for 43 years. Her four children are happily married to wonderful spouses and she is blessed with 8 grandchildren and one on the way.

She is proud to be a member of NAWBO and feels honored to have served as Immediate Past President of NAWBO Ventura County, where she has been a role model to many successful entrepreneurs.
