Benefits Of Membership
An investment in NAWBO membership provides a portfolio of benefits that propel business growth and fuel personal and professional development. A membership in the Ventura County Chapter of NAWBO offers women-owned businesses a national, state and local platform to tap into the power of an established community of women entrepreneurs.

At the national level, NAWBO was incorporated in 1974 and touts a membership of more than 5,000 members and 60 chapters across the country. Here in California, we have 10 chapters and have formed a consortium called NAWBO California that provides activities and resources to support the local chapters and represents the issues and interests of more than 1.3 million women business owners in the state.

Our local Ventura County Chapter provides the following benefits of membership:

Membership Categories
The National Board of Directors of the National Association of Women Business Owners establishes member classes for the organization. A brief description of each category is listed below.

Established Business Owner

(Voting Member): $300 initial dues ($275 renewal)

For a business owner who has been in business for more than two years and lives in a chapter area. A regular voting category, members receive all communications and publications, are eligible for all discounts and benefits, and are listed in the annual directory. To qualify for membership, members must own a minimum of 5% of their company.

Emerging Business Owner

(Non-Voting Member): $250 initial dues ($225 renewal)

Join NAWBO
Applications for Supporting and Student Membership must be submitted directly to Ventura County Chapter. Please contact the Membership Director for more information.
We welcome you to visit us at one of our events! Our monthly meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month (exceptions are November, December and April). We also have luncheon and breakfast meetings, as well as other events throughout the year. Join us to learn more about NAWBO – both Ventura County and NAWBO National. Ready to join? Just a few notes regarding membership:

NAWBO® Membership is open to individual business owners who own an equity interest and actively participate as a sole proprietor; an active partner of a partnership or active member of a limited liability company; and independent contractor; or individual owners of 5 percent or more of the stock of a corporation and who are involved in policy-making and day-to-day management of the corporation.[ READ MORE ]
