The National Board of Directors of the National Association of Women Business Owners establishes member classes for the organization. A brief description of each category is listed below.

Of special note: NAWBO-VC has established an exclusive “Elite Member Sponsor” for those local members who would like to provide additional support for our local chapter while gaining added exposure for their business. Please see the details below. Elite Member Sponsorship is in addition to a required annual National membership.

Elite Member Sponsor -

$600 annual dues - This local Ventura County add-on membership is in addition to the required annual membership dues as noted below.

Elite Member Sponsors receive:

  • Dinner Meeting Sponsorship Benefits – Eleven free registrations, to be used in any quantity per meeting, to bring guests for example, up to a maximum of eleven within the year ($385 value). Also, special recognition at the podium each meeting, title sponsorship of one pre-determined dinner meeting with company materials at each seat for that meeting and a 3-minute presentation at podium for one sponsored event.
  • Social Media and Website Exposure – Logo placement with link on NAWBOVC website, Logo in monthly e-newsletter reaching 900+, promotion of Elite Member events (by request to the Board), recognition  on NAWBOVC Facebook page.
  • Free Attendance at Mixers and Other Socials

Established Business Owner

(Voting Member): $300 initial dues ($275 renewal)

For a business owner who has been in business for more than two years and lives in a chapter area. A regular voting category, members receive all communications and publications, are eligible for all discounts and benefits, and are listed in the annual directory.  To qualify for membership, members must own a minimum of 5% of their company.

Emerging Business Owner

(Non-Voting Member): $250 initial dues ($225 renewal)

For a new business owner (in business for two years or less). A non-voting category limited to two years, members receive all communications and publications, are eligible for all discounts and benefits, and are listed in the annual directory.

Supporting Member

(Non-Voting Member): $300 initial dues ($275 renewal)

Shall be an individual who subscribes to the objectives of NAWBO and wish to lend support to NAWBO through membership. Members in this classification shall not constitute more than 10% of the voting membership of a chapter. Applications for Supporting Membership must be submitted directly to the chapter for approval. Any application directly received by the national office will be returned to the applicant.

Student Member

(Non-Voting Member): $250 initial dues ($225 renewal)

Shall be an individual who is a student registered full time at a school or university, who subscribes to the objective of NAWBO and intends to start a business. Applications for Student Membership must be submitted directly to the chapter for approval. Proof of full time student status must accompany the application.
